Popup restaurant to base menu on music of Radiohead
An odd story this – a Detroit chef is planning a popup 10-course dinner, based on the music of Radiohead.
Detroit Golf Club chef Kyle Hanley told the Free Press that “The music was the complete and total basis for the food, and separately for the wine.”
The news led to a barrage of jokes in the MT office:
1) So the food starts off palatable, and then become difficult to enjoy after the third course?
2) Inspired a bunch of other restaurants to open and do a cheaper version of the same thing.
3) Yelp reviewers say they really loved it, even though they don’t understand it.
4) Everyone loves their burger, but they refuse to cook that anymore.
And so on.
The location for the dinner, which takes place on February 19, is the Elizabeth Theatre above the Park Bar in Detroit. There will be three seatings, each with twelve guests, at 5:30, 7:30, and 9:30 p.m. The tickets cost a whopping $125, but that includes drinks.
