WSPR’s Circulates a new MichMusic Mindset

Perhaps a traditional approach to public relations, (i.e. one client, one band, one catchy message,) is just too narrow for such an active scene as Detroit. Workspace PR (WSPR), bolstered by a quartet current/former musicians who’ve paid their dues “on the scene” and on tours, hope to cast a wide net of awareness, promoting the kind of details about this area that they feel people need to know.

Beyond bands (like hip-hop duo Passalacqua or post-metal quintet Child Bite), WSPR aspires to promoting artists, events, products while breaking away from the limited “client” based approach. Their focus is inherently broad and they want to bridge gaps, electro-to-punk, craft shows to dance parties. Saturday’s concert is meant to be a showcase of the exciting progressive mindset prevailing in the contemporary culture scene that WSPR hopes to celebrate in their first year ahead.

Here’s footage (compliments of Grand Rapids-based venue the Pyramid Scheme) of a recent live set featuring Bars of Gold you’re Friday headliner:
