Happy Friday, friends and freaks…
Behold …a Computer Perfection/Dan Demaggio exploration, titled “Boby Tarlow” – a music video for a single from the Detroit-based prog-prodding space-pop-cadets’ 2011 EP. A “technicolor origami…” splattering, re-splattering and un-splattering the mind as we musically muse upon the metaphysical possibilities and ludicrous lunacies precipitated by the ethereal/rumored existence of some mad, mythologized being, some synthesizer-sprite…

…or whatever… more info from Computer Perfection’s site.

The fact of the matter is, this is an ideal jam for spring, cheerily bombastic, just-the-right-amount-of-blippity sweetness and ever-buoyant!

Meanwhile, Detroit-psyche-twanging quartet Duende have been bit by the archivalist bug, with its lead singer / guitarist Jeff Howitt having recently excavated an old novel of his from before he could legally drink…and, now, with the band putting up free downloadable concerts, zip-mixes of MP3s from shows’-gone-by.

Duende…honoring the “eternal East-Village-cool” LIVE

This week, an honor of the unfortunate closing of New York’s  “musical mainstay” of the East Village,  the Lakeside Lounge, they’re streaming a show they performed their back in early 2009, between studio sessions with Matt Verta Ray for what would become their Remnant of a Remnant LP.

~Computer Perfection don’t have any live appearances coming up – but their bassist doubles as singer/guitarist of The Walking Beat - the Walking Beat…meanwhile, are opening up for Kenny Tudrick’s release party, Saturday night – at PJs Lager House. This is the debut show for a new band called Colorwheel - featuring a slew of familiar faces.

~Duende, meanwhile, have their next Loving-Touch hosted weekday evening show on May 2nd – welcoming back Macrame Tiger from a bit of inactivity and the all-too-often–few-and-far-between Red China.
