Black Milk’s Official Video for “Welcome (Gotta Go)”

Take a look at the second music video off of Black Milk’s superb new release, Album of the Year. The video, shot by director Anthony Garth, is clearly set in Downtown Detroit and takes you for a stroll along the riverfront, behind Cobo Hall, through some colorful alleyways, up Lafayette, down Congress, over I-75, and a slew of other locations that not only work well with the song but make Detroit look cool. And empty at times. Where the hell is all the traffic?

What’s undeniable is that Garth (who also shot some early B.R. Gunna videos, as well as those from the Sights and Detroit Cobras among others) and his editor, Chris Chynoweth, did a solid job making this one of the cleanest music videos I’ve seen in awhile. At first I mistakenly assumed it was a Ghost Post video, but after Mario Butterfield confirmed that he didn’t shoot it, I immediately had to learn more about Garth. The guy has good stuff all the way around. Contact him folks. And purchase AOTY if you haven’t already. Jesus.
